Provisional Psychologist

My Story

Alexa Ceh is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a psychometrist with the Victoria Assessment and Therapy Institute. She provides counselling for young adults and adults and contributes to psychological assessment, with particular interests in ADHD, anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, and the ways these experiences can affect learning, work, relationships, and everyday life.

Alexa’s work is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and a belief that people’s difficulties make more sense when understood in context. In counselling, she works with concerns such as anxiety, panic, low mood, stress and burnout, trauma, grief and loss, self-doubt, relationships, and periods of transition. Her approach is primarily informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, while remaining flexible to the needs, goals, and preferences of each client. She also brings experience in vocational rehabilitation, supporting people whose health or psychological functioning has disrupted their ability to participate in work and other meaningful activities.

Assessment is an important part of Alexa’s professional practice. She contributes to assessments involving ADHD, autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, trauma, and cognitive functioning, and has formal training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2). She completed extensive doctoral-level coursework and supervised training in clinical psychology at Adler University, with comprehensive training in psychodiagnostic assessment. In her role as a psychometrist, she administers and scores standardized measures as part of the broader assessment process under the direction and supervision of the assessing psychologist.

Alexa holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with honours and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Calgary. Whether working in therapy or assessment, she aims to help people develop a clearer understanding of themselves and their experiences and to translate that understanding into practical, meaningful next steps.
