Alyssa Vincent
Registered Clinical Counsellor and Certified Family Trauma Professional
My Story
Alyssa is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Certified Family Trauma Professional based in Victoria, BC, holding a Master of Science in Clinical Counselling with specialized training in Brainspotting, somatic therapy, and trauma-informed approaches.
Her path toward becoming a trauma therapist was influenced by her background in clinical cardiac research and her work as a Patient Partner with Island Health, where she witnessed how unprocessed trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, and nervous system dysregulation can impact physical health, relationships, and quality of life. These experiences inspired her commitment to helping individuals explore and process root causes rather than simply managing symptoms.
Alyssa works with adolescents, adults, and provides parent support to families. Whether clients are processing fears or trauma, navigating anxiety, understanding ADHD, managing stress, or rebuilding stability after significant life transitions, she works alongside them at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and attuned to their individual needs.
She integrates a range of evidence-based modalities, including Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), somatic practices, mindfulness, and therapeutic art interventions, thoughtfully tailoring therapy to each client’s unique experiences and goals.
Outside of clinical work, Alyssa enjoys exploring local beaches, practicing Qigong, and travelling. She also loves cooking, painting, sculpting, and listening to live music.
